Natsuyuki Rendezvous Review

A powerful story in its own right, Natsuyuki Rendesvous tackles upon the relationship between three characters. Hazuki Ryousuke is working at the flower shop in order to get closer romantically to the manager of the store. Shimao Rokka, the manager, is trying to live as freely as she could while giving up on love via the death of her husband. Shimao Atsushi, her husband, wants Rokka to live a free live, yet does not wish to let her go. The conflicting morals and identities of the three characters create a rather unique atmosphere that eventually bloom with character development.

Tari Tari: Episode 3

The key person with the spotlight in this weeks episode had to be none other than Taichi. Here, we get a quick flashback on the time when he use to be bullied until his over sister saved him. This probably gave him the viewpoint of standing up for himself and doing what he wants to do for his own goals. With that event, his dream is to become a professional badminton player for a national team or going solo. A big dream in his part, but with no members other than himself, there was no way for him to continue playing in the nationals unless his assembles five people to play with him, even if it was going to be by name.

Kokoro Connect: Episode 1-2

It’s hard to believe that such a light-hearted show with a fun class and a silly story can have such a heavy atmosphere and plot in the process. Kokorro concert is set in the lives of fives students who are forced to join together to create a club, since their school requires everyone to be in a club and none of their interest seem to coincide with any of the clubs provided. While all of them are good friends, what drives these five characters’ lives out of control is an unusual phenomenon that happens only to them: soul exchange.

Hagure Yuusha no Estetica: Episode 1-2

It does feel funny that the beginning of the show starts off with what could have been the ending of a series. It is as if we were going backwards in time or jumping directly to a second season without much though. However, the series stays true to itself. Maverick Hero Ohtorizawa Akatsuki befalls a demon king from another land and is considered a hero among the people of their land. But what happens when he wants to return back home? Well, he gets introduced to a bunch of combat maids who are under the direct order of the queen of the land to make sure that Akatsuki does not leave this world and remain by her side. While a beneficial thing to do, his job in this world is done, and it’s time for him to go home. The maids give him a hard time to return to the portal back home, but with his powers as well as his ability to take a woman’s undergarments in a blink of an eye without any of the woman noticing it, he makes defeating nearly 20-30 or so combat maids look seemingly easy. Of course, it does not help that the last person he has to go through is none other than the princess of the land herself who asked him to slay the demon lord for her. Clearly, she does not want to let him go, nor does she wish for him to leave her side in the first place. However, he has to return home, for there is some unfinished business that he has to take care of. He tells her that he will never leave her side, since they are already bound by some sort of contract. If she ever needed him, she can always summon him to her world. And with that, he returns back home.

Koi To Senkyo To Chocolate: Episode 1-2

Welcome to the Food Research Cub. Here, you can try out various snacks either bought or created by the students of the club and critique them. However, considering that the club itself is just about eating them and stating things about them, the club does not do anything beyond that. While a fun club and an interesting amount of people to be around with, with the next student election coming just around the corner, and the next possible candidate is going to cut off clubs that are not doing anything for budget sake, it is of no surprise that they are on that list. They can try to hold a bake sale or hand out fliers about their critiques, but with timing not on their side, important action is necessary. And what better action is there than to have Oojima Yuuki in the running by unanimous decision except for his own?

Dakara Boku wa H ga Dekinai: Episodes 1-2

Uncommonly do we see a male lead accepting his male-driven hormones. A current anime trend is that the main lead is an indecisive kid who easily blushes at the sight of woman. Kaga Ryosuke takes the opposite extreme of the rope, a male who clearly does not mind having many girls by his side strip naked if possible. Despite his over-erotic personality, he is a gentleman at heart who does not think twice about helping a girl in need. However, even his kindness can only go so far with a certain path that he might not have taken.

Tari Tari: Episodes 1-2

In terms off visuals, P.A. Works as not let me down in their past works. As expected of them, not only is the visual aspect of the show great, but for a slice of life anime centered on music as well as coming of age, this got me. It is probably because I am a choral singer as well that I can relate to the experiences Miyamoto Konatsu was facing dduring the two episodes. In any case, both episodes have gotten me hooked into the show, and I hope it continues to not disappoint me.
